2022 Stanley Cup Series Odds: Colorado Avalanche Favored After 2-0 Start

Now that the NBA season is finished, all eyes turn toward the ice for the 2022 Stanley Cup Final.

The Colorado Avalanche are now up 2-0 after a 7-0 drubbing in Game 2. But the Lightning, who have won back-to-back Stanley Cups, have been down before. Can they come back and win this series?

Here’s a look at the updated market for series prices and what to make of it ahead of Monday’s Game 3. Remember to view our sportsbook promotions for more details on new offers and bonuses.

Making Sense Of New Odds

The Lightning have been here before. They were down 0-2 in the conference finals before rattling off four consecutive victories to reach the Stanley Cup Final. But are you willing to bet on it?

WynnBET’s betting odds for Game 3 suggest that tonight should be a coin-flip on Tampa Bay’s home ice. Colorado probably wins this game more often than not, but anything can happen any given night. I would also expect the betting odds/probability to be similar for Game 4.

As a result, I’m more interested in the new series handicap prices. If we assume the Lightning win one of these next two toss-ups at home, then Colorado wrapping up the series at home in Game 5 is worth considering.

Colorado to win the series, 4-1, is the lowest price entering Game 3 because it is the most-likely outcome. That said, assuming you didn’t bet a pre-series price, it is still the most intriguing series wager to me. This was valued at +325 before the lopsided affair in Game 2, but getting 2/1 is still worth considering before tonight’s battle.
