Summary:

It’s far easier to sell yourself on the Eagles than the 49ers. They’re at home, their pass rush is tremendous and could dominate against a rookie quarterback and the combination of A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith could feast against a mediocre 49ers secondary. Philadelphia’s offensive line is good enough to neutralize the 49ers pass rush as well in order to give Jalen Hurts time to find Brown and Smith downfield.

For the 49ers, it will be all about limiting those big plays in the passing game while being able to establish the run offensively. A productive ground game against an average Eagles run defense will be essential in order to take some of the pressure off Brock Purdy’s arm. I do like the speed San Francisco has at linebacker with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw to help contain Hurts a bit as a runner.

I think these are the two deepest and most talented rosters in the NFL, and I’ll likely pick the winner in the Super Bowl.

The play:

49ers +2.5

I totally understand if you prefer the Eagles here. As I mentioned above, there are ample reasons to sell yourself on Philly -2.5. But I’ve been riding the 49ers for two months now, and they’re yet to let me down. I believe in San Francisco’s coaching edge with Kyle Shanahan and DeMeco Ryans as well. This should be a tremendous game, and I’ll be going down with the ship riding San Francisco until the bitter end.
