Betting Odds and Best Picks for the 2022 PGA Championship

Are you ready for another golf major?

The 2022 PGA Championship is slated to take place this week, and let’s hope it is more competitive than the Masters was last month when Scott Scheffler torched the course in Augusta to run away with it.

If you read that preview, you will remember that I had outright tickets on both Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. They finished second and third, respectively, which has been pretty much par for the course with my golf previews in 2022 because my outright picks keep coming up just short.

Maybe that means I’m due for some major positive regression, starting as early as this week. Whether you follow my picks or not, however, I hope you find this article helpful as you decide on your own bets. As long as you place your bets with WynnBET, we can all win together!

Golf Picks

Jon Rahm — Looking back at the Masters, it seemed so easy: Bet on the best golfer in the world to win. He might still be behind Scottie Scheffler in the official rankings, but no player has been as consistently elite as Jon Rahm. Over the last 100 rounds, he ranks first in total strokes gained and ball striking. Rahm won the Mexico Open last time out, but it would be nice to see him win a major when everyone else seems to have cooled off on him a bit.

Patrick Cantlay — No golfer on the PGA Tour has more wins than Cantlay’s five since October of 2020. He just hasn’t won a major, which isn’t that concerning since we’ve seen a recent run of golfers getting their first major victory. Cantlay was runner-up at the RBC Heritage last time out, and has been in the mix more often than not in 2022. He ranks second in total strokes gained over the last 100 rounds, trailing only Jon Rahm over that span.

Viktor Hovland — We haven’t seen Hovland since the Masters, where he finished 27th. He entered the year with high expectations, though he hasn’t quite met them despite a trio of top-10 finishes in 2022. But the former Oklahoma State golfer could be in for a big week here at the Southern Hills Country Club. In the end, it will obviously come down to the short game for Hovland.
