Who are the scariest players in the NFL? | Upsets & Underdogs Ep. 18

The 18th episode of Upsets & Underdogs will get you ready for Week 8 of the NFL season.

Will Blackmon and Nick Dais preview all the biggest games of Sunday’s slate, which includes Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots at Los Angeles Chargers, and Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings.

Darius Butler also joins the show, and it was such a fun interview that featured plenty of Halloween-themed storylines. They also reveal their favorite picks for the upcoming weekend on the gridiron.

Here is the full episode:

Scariest players in the NFL

As alluded to earlier, Butler brought that holiday spirit when he came on the show.

With NFL games slated to take place on Oct. 31, Blackmon asked Butler a number of Halloween-themed questions. This included which team will be the “ghost” of the second half of the regular season. Find out his answer by watching the show!

But the interesting conversation involved the scariest players in the NFL. Butler was tasked with picking one offensive player and one defensive player for this category, and ultimately sided with Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Cleveland’s Myles Garrett.

Last time out, Chase broke the franchise record for most receiving yards in a game by a rookie, which was previously 177 set by Speedy Thomas in 1969. Garrett has already recorded 9.5 sacks through seven games, and continues to build a DPOY campaign.

Personally, I would have picked Derrick Henry and Aaron Donald for this question. Who are your answers?

Underdogs of the week

As the name of the show would suggest, Blackmon and Dais pride themselves on calling their shots on the underdogs every week. They each pick their favorite underdog of the week every Thursday.

Dais is backing the Minnesota Viking against the Dallas Cowboys, a line that has since moved in his favor due to the uncertainty of Dak Prescott’s status. Remember: Dallas is undefeated against the spread (6-0) so far this season, and are the only team that can say that.

Blackmon is backing the Detroit Lions at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. This would be the first win of the year for the Lions, who are 0-7 under Dan Campbell. The Eagles enter the matchup with a 2-5 clip.

As a guest, Butler sided with the Green Bay Packers on TNF prior to kickoff. They ended up winning outright, 24-21, to hand the Arizona Cardinals their first loss of the season. It is up to Blackmon and Dais to keep the train rolling on Sunday.

Picks recap

Blackmon is taking the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys in the marquee matchups this week. Dais is siding with the Colts, Chargers, and Vikings in those respective games.

For the season, Blackmon is 12-15 overall and Dais has a 14-13 clip. They are a combined 8-6 on their underdog picks of the week, which includes an impressive 5-2 record from Blackmon in this category.

Make sure to check out their Week 8 recap on Monday!
