Joe Fann’s Best MLB Bet for Monday April 11

Baseball is back, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m going to wade slowly into the MLB betting waters but there’s one team I love on this fine Monday. That’s the Toronto Blue Jays on the road against the New York Yankees.

  • Pitching matchup: Alek Manoah vs. Jameson Taillon

  • Moneyline: Blue Jays +107, Yankees -117

  • Run line: Blue Jays +1.5 (-200), Yankees -1.5 +165

  • Game total: 9

  • Team totals: Blue Jays 4, Yankees 4

These odds are via WynnBET, and you should place your bets before the odds move!

The plays:

I’m down to take the Blue Jays however you can get them. I like them for the first five innings moneyline as well as the full game. I also think there’s a ton of value in the over four runs for Toronto’s team total (-120).

Here’s why I’m all in on the Jays:

  • Alek Manoah posted a 3.22 ERA and a 10.2 K/9 rate in what was a sensational rookie season. In two starts against the Yankees last year, Manoah posted a 2.31 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 11.2 innings. If you have faith in Manoah but not in Toronto’s bullpen, F5 ML is the way to go.

  • Jameson Taillon has been painfully average his entire career despite being the second-overall pick back in 2010. He posted a pedestrian 4.30 ERA in 2021 and posted a woeful 6.23 ERA in three starts against the Blue Jays.

  • Toronto’s bats are off to a scorching start, leading the league in OPS (.896) while mashing seven homers in just three games.

You can pick how you want to play them, but the Blue Jays are a tremendous value on Monday night no matter how you slice it.
