2023 CFB National Championship Market: Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State vs. The Field

There are three teams that appear to be head and shoulders above the rest ahead of the 2022-23 college football season.

Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia enter the year as the favorites in WynnBET’s national championship market. The Bulldogs, who are the defending champions, are actually third in odds with a price of +375 to defend their crown. Alabama (+200) and Ohio State (+325) lead the way, while no other team is better than 12/1 to win the title.

It is clear that oddsmakers expect one of these three teams to be crowned the champion come January. And you can bet on this trio to capture the title vs. the field in a special two-way market available at WynnBET’s online sportsbook.

WynnBET has grouped Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State together for a value of -380. If you choose to lay that juice, you only need one of those three teams to win it all for your ticket to be graded a winner.

The other option is the field, which is priced at +300. That ticket would cash if any team other than those three ended up winning the national championship. LSU was the last such squad to accomplish that feat, capturing a crown to conclude the 2019-20 campaign.

According to WynnBET’s Sr. Trader Motoi Pearson, WynnBET took some field bets after opening this market in June.

“We opened -525 Bama, Georgia, Ohio State/+425 Field, shaded a bit above where the probability we calculated one of those three teams winning the (championship). It's hard not to be high on those three teams. I mean come on, we were OK with taking Field bets early as the money pushed us down to -380/+300. We figure this will be a popular market as the season goes on, and I think we're just looking to not give any advantageous prices on the Bama/Georgia/Ohio State side out the gate.”
