There's no denying—over the past half-decade, Jim McIngvale aka "Mattress Mack" has become a bit of a sports betting celebrity. The Houston-area furniture magnate (see Gallery Furniture) has gained notoriety after placing some very sizable wagers on the sporting world's biggest events: the World Series, the Super Bowl, you name it ...

It now being early January, all eyes are on the College Football Playoff National Title game between the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (13-1) and No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (13-1), and you can bet that Mattress Mack has a piece of the action—$1 million worth, to be exact.

That's right; as of Sunday night (January 9th, 2022), Mattress Mack is all in on Alabama. Not even inclement weather would keep McIngvale from placing his action with WynnBET. En route to Colorado, the Houston-native was forced to reschedule travel plans after poor flying conditions grounded his original flight on Saturday.

But neither wind, nor sleet, nor snow was going to impede Mack—he made arrangements for Sunday and eventually locked in the Alabama ML (+120) for $1,000,000 immediately upon landing at a Southern Colorado airstrip! If the Crimson Tide defeat Georgia straight-up on Monday night, Mattress Mack will collect a total of $2.2 million. This is currently the largest wager WynnBET-CO has taken on the CFP Natty!

Fortunately for us, Mattress Mack took some time on Monday morning to hop on Bet to Wynn with hosts Claudia Bellofatto and Joe Fann!

Our beloved hosts are thrilled to have Mack grace the show with his presence and expertise. Claudia gets right into it with Mr. McIngvale, inquiring on his origin story in the sports gaming sphere. Mack alludes to his youth, claiming to be an avid poker player during his high school days. From there, he naturally segued into sports gambling. Of course, everyone remembers the famed 2006 Rose Bowl wherein Texas outlasted USC for the College Football National Title—Mattress Mack cites this game as his first major win!

The conversation eventually moves to the topic of tonight's National Title game; why is Mack on Alabama? Simple: He thinks the Crimson Tide at plus-money (+120) is too good to pass up. We have all seen how dominant Alabama has been over this past epoch of college football. So if you can get them at an underdog price, Mack recommends hammering it!

"I had no interest in running a promotion on this national championship game until I saw the fact that Alabama was a 2.5, 3-point underdog."

Joe Fann, the ever-optimistic Seattle Mariners fan, takes some time to joke with Mack, jovially asking if Mack and his beloved Houston Astros can take a year off from winning the AL West. Of course, neither man sees the Astros letting off the gas pedal any time soon. But we still have awhile before baseball season commences (with eyes on a current owner's lockout); tonight, all eyes will be on Alabama and Georgia ...

The College Football Playoff National Championship will be played Monday night (January 10th) at 8pm ET/5pm PT from Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium. The event will be broadcasted live on ESPN and will pit college football's two best teams against each other. Alabama and Georgia have met once already this season (SEC Championship) wherein the Bulldogs suffered their only loss of the year, losing definitively to the Crimson Tide 41-24. It goes without saying that Georgia will be looking to turn the "tide" come Monday night ...
