The premiere episode of Upsets & Underdogs (presented by WynnBET) is now available on Apple podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube! Tune in to hear former NFL free safety Will Blackmon cover all the latest football news, preferred picks, and anything else you need to know in the wide world of sports betting!
The debut episode starts with Blackmon sharing his journey to get to this point.
Blackmon was drafted by the Green Packers in the fourth round after playing for Boston College. He played for the Packers for four seasons before having two-year stints with three different teams (New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington) on his way to a 10-year career in the NFL.
Since leaving the sport in 2016, Blackmon said he’s been “paying his dues” while trying to make a career in media. It led to this opportunity, in which Blackmon said he’s “beyond appreciative to share his knowledge and have fun” on this podcast.
He then introduced Nick Dais as his producer and gambling guru. You can follow both Blackmon (@willblackmon) and Dais (@nickdais) on Twitter.
On Upsets and Underdogs, Blackmon plans to shine a light on different bad beats and other relevant gambling topics. He also plans to dive into some of the greatest upsets and most celebrated underdogs in sports history.

Blackmon and Dais shared a lot of picks and thoughts for Week 1, but one of the key segments of the debut episode was when the former NFL player suggested why you can’t always trust Pro Football Focus.
The reason came from personal experience, of course. In the game most known for Odell Beckhman’s famous one-handed snag, Blackmon surrendered two late touchdowns and was feeling down on himself. His coach told him that he was PFF’s second-highest cornerback in the entire league that week.
Blackmon could have just accepted the praise, but it served as an important lesson instead.
Blackmon and Dais also hit on the following topics throughout his debut episode of Upsets & Underdogs:
- Picks for Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh, Cleveland at Kansas City, and Saints vs. Packers
- Who is the most under-appreciated player in the NFL?
- More insight on the “Vegas Flu”
- Will’s Underdog Pick of the Week
- Season-long props
- Super Bowl picks
