Julian Edelman on Brady, Belichick and Randy Moss

First episode features Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman

Joining Cris Carter on the debut episode is 3x Super Bowl Champion WR Julian Edelman.

Cris chats with the former Patriot about making it to the league, WR preparation tactics, life after football, culture in New England and favorite teammates.

What comes after football retirement?

The California native responds by sharing that he will be a new addition Inside the NFL for the upcoming season.

How does Edelman approach working in media?

Edelman claims his personality on TV will be derived from the culture he absorbed from his many years in New England: no-nonsense with his takes and holding others accountable for theirs.

On Tom Brady:

Edelman lifts the veil on some of Tom-Terrific’s tendencies and what makes Brady tick, explaining that the future Hall of Fame QB has absolutely earned everything that he has accomplished. Julian lists Brady as one of his biggest career motivators.

Getting more direct, Carter switches gears and requests a straight answer from Edelman:

"“You’re going to be doing [NFL media], I think you’re going to have to be a little more clear with what your answer is. Do you think ‘Julian Edelman’ deserves one of the gold jackets?”" - Cris Carter to Julian Edelman

Edelman's answer? That his opinion is moot on the matter. It simply is not up to him and he respects that, and the decision of the fraternal order in charge of selection.

“You just let the dice roll. Whatever. It is what it is,” said Edelman.

Guest bio

Julian Edelman played 11 seasons in the NFL with New England after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft. A quarterback in college at Kent State, Edelman quickly adapted to "The Patriot Way," exemplifying quick feet and a tenacious work ethic. Standing at 5-foot-10, Jules learned to excel in his craft of route-running, identifying coverage, and being able to absorb vicious hits over the middle without batting an eye. This style of play would make him one of Tom Brady's most trusted targets.

Throughout his career, Edelman amassed 620 catches, 6,822 receiving yards, and 62 touchdowns in the regular season. His numbers in the playoffs are even more distinguished, as only Jerry Rice is above Edelman in playoff receptions and playoff receiving yards. Edelman is a three-time Super Bowl Champion, earning MVP honors in Super Bowl LIII.
