Hall of Fame WR Randy Moss' tenure with the New England Patriots was brief yet undeniable electric. For three seasons (2007-2010), Moss teamed up with QB Tom Brady on an offense that also included WR Wes Welker and a shaggy-haired rookie from Kent State named Julian Edelman.
Although Moss' play on the field with New England lives in the NFL record books (he caught 23 TD passes in 2007, the most any player has in a single-season), his presence behind the scenes is worth remembering, as well.
Julian Edelman joins Cris Carter on new show "WR1," talks Randy Moss
Earlier this week, Julian Edelman appeared on the debut episode of WR1: A Podcast with Cris Carter presented by WynnBET (part of the Blue Wire podcast network). Carter, who is also a former teammate of the always-entertaining Randy Moss, spoke to Edelman on many topics -- including their favorite Randy Moss memories.

Carter and Edelman acknowledged that each dealt with a 'different' Randy Moss. Carter played with a rookie Randy Moss in Minnesota, whereas Edelman was around a veteran-Moss when Edelman himself was a rookie in New England. Regardless, some things about Randy just don't change.
'98. First Round. Get to know me.
- Randy Moss to rookie Julian Edelman
According to Edelman, Moss took pleasure in taking the young receivers under his wing during his Patriot days. Randy enjoyed this brotherhood so much so, he bestowed Edelman with his first NFL nickname: "Edel-nut." Sounds like the sort of thing only a player of Moss' caliber could get away with.
"98. First round. Get to know me" is what Moss always told Edelman, reminding the rookie receiver of his status and credentials. Yes, Randy "The Freak" Moss has always been one to turn heads -- just as much off the field as on it.
